With Generation Z professionals constituting a significant portion of the workforce, a Deloitte study revealed that 44% of this demographic, representing more than 10% of the total employee base, have rejected job offers from companies that do not align with their values.
Drawing on their recruitment experiences from previous ventures, Jacobs and Heitner recognized the need for a more scalable approach to hiring young professionals.
Reflecting on his time at The Iconic, Jacobs noted that traditional resumes often fail to capture candidates’ essential skills and qualities. He emphasized the importance of focusing on individuals’ underlying attributes rather than solely relying on CVs.
In light of the evolving landscape of career preferences and job-seeking behaviors among Generation Z, Jacobs highlighted the positive role of AI in facilitating job discovery, refuting the misconception that automation is poised to displace opportunities for the next generation.
Hatch’s platform leverages AI to evaluate skills, values, and motivations when recommending suitable roles, making candidates three times more likely to secure interviews than the industry average.
